3. Your Preparation for the game

  • Be committed to your game plan.

  • Arrive early. Go to the practice range to hit about 100 golf balls.

  • Practice precision shot performance for all the short games.

  • Avoid heavy meal.

  • Do not have an intense practice session of hitting more 300 balls at the range the day before the game.

4. Your Tee-shots

  • Read the layout of each hole to land your perfect tee-shot.

  • Get the ball on the flat part of fairway to make your next golf shot easier on the putting green for your par and birdie.

  • A long straight tee-shot is always a good start for every hole.

5. Your Fairway shot to greens

  • Get the ball to the putting green for your birdie and par score.

  • Aim for a position on the putting green to make your putt easier. Avoid down-hill putt.

  • Apply specialty shot performance if required otherwise hit straight shot to the flag stick.

6. When your ball outside the Greens

  • Get the golf ball close to the flagstick with one attempt.

  • Get the golf ball out of the sandbunker and near to the flagstick.

  • Do not try a golf swing technique if you have not been succeeded in your practice.

7. Your Putting

  • Assess what are the slopes on the putting green that can effect the golf ball rolling motion for the long putt.

  • Be very precise on your short putts.

  • No 3-putts game.

8. Your Mental game

  • Exercise total perception and cognitive skills for all shot performances throughout the game.

  • Ensure that you do your signature pre-routine swing action to get the total mental readiness and physical readiness for your golf swing execution.

  • A misjudged shot performance is part of a golf game, it is what we learn from it that counts.

  • Disregard the intrinsic or extrinsic motivation for better game performance. The best motivation is self motivation.

9. Your Equipment

  • Wear your lucky colour outfit, look smart and feel confidence for your game.

  • Play with your best selected balls.

  • Ensure that your equipment is a correct set makeup. See professional clubmaker for advice.

  • Have a Rule of Golf book in your bag.

10. What you must do for yourself?

  • After your game, take notes on what need to be practiced.

  • Engage yourself in a regular practice session.

  • Create a competitive short games practice challenge with friends. Sharpen your skills and add valuable dimensions to your practice time.

  • Watch more golf tournaments to see how Professionals prepare for their perfect shot performances and do the impossible to become a champion.

  • Try to play with good golfers more often to learn the must, should and good to do on the course e.g. how to score when first time playing on a new golf course?).

  • Have a short and long term plans to fulfill your golf aspiration.

  • Read other sporting game books for athletic performance motivation.
